COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Basic Carbine showed you how to zero and shoot your AR15/M16, Carbine II will teach you how to use it!!

 

This course is taught primarily at the range – dress appropriately!!

 

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

$   Teach standing/kneeling/prone shooting positions

$   Show the different Aready@ positions

$   When, and how, to transition from long gun to handgun

$   How to engage targets from the left, right and behind the Officer

$   Clearing Class I and Class III malfunctions

$   How to shoot weak hand, one handed, and while moving

$   The difference between a Speed load and a Tac load, and when to use each

$   What sight offset is, and how it can be overcome

$   How to perform hammers, controlled pairs, and failure drills

$   What a Anon Standard Response@ is

$   Officers will qualify firing the IL State Police short course

 

PREREQUISITES: Students must have attended Basic Carbine, or a similar course subject to instructor approval.

Mr. Baile spent over twenty-five years as a Conservation Police Officer with

the Illinois Department of Natural Resources in Peoria County.  He developed

the departments existing forty-hour Interview & Interrogation Recruit & In

-Service Training Program.  Mr. Bail is a Certified Forensic Interviewer having

conducted over 7000 interviews and interrogations.  Jeff has also instructed

thousands of law enforcement officers as an associate of John J. Millner &

Associates, Inc.

 

COURSE CONTENT:

Most interrogations fail because of the interrogator=s lack of endurance and stamina.  These weaknesses afford suspects a psychological edge to hold out even longer.  This two-day course allows officers and detectives an opportunity to practice their interrogation abilities by way of mock classroom interrogation scenarios.  Training simulates field, stationhouse, and traffic stop interrogation situation, many of which are actual cases. 

 

Each participant receives an evaluation rom the instructor and constructive feedback from other course members.  Training manual supports lecture material as well as actual videotaped interrogations, false confession studies, and discussions regarding police coercion and lying in obtaining confessions. 

 

 Class size is limited to 12 participants due to the training practical aspect.

COURSE CONTENT:

Everyday the patrol officer is faced with determining if people are telling the truth.  For two days, participants evaluate their individual abilities by joining dozens of people engaged in known lying and truth telling situations by way of video and in-class simulations.  Personal strengths and weakness can be accurately charted over the course because outcome feedback is provided.  A small portion of this course reviews field interviewing tactics for use during live simulations.              

 

"Practical Lie Detection and Field Interviewing for the Patrol Officer" is a practical application of truth and lie detection methods.  It is beneficial to attend Program I, Comprehensive Review of Forensic Interviewing, Interrogation, and Interpersonal Communications Methods, prior to enrolling BUT not mandatory.

This course will provide Law Enforcement and Correctional Officer to gain knowledge in subject management during an unknown risk and/or high risk stops.

COURSE DESCRIPTION: 

This course is designed to provide the officer with the fundamentals of the AR-15 and C16 family of weapons.

 

COURSE OBJECTIVES:    

Instruct on assembly, disassembly and cleaning of the weapon

Show the officer how to obtain a proper sight zero

Officer will qualify with a 80% or better score

Officer will be required to pass a written test  

 

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT: 

An AR-15 or C16 rifle or carbine 

2 or more magazines  

Cleaning kit and supplies

250 rounds  factory ammo (NO RELOADS)

Safety glasses and hearing protection

TASER is a “Conducted Energy”, Less-Lethal weapon option for Police Officers which is designed to incapacitate aggressively resistant offenders, from a safe distance, without causing death or permanent injury. 

 

User certification is valid for one year.  This certification consists of firing at least three live cartridges in addition to learning the function and operation of the TASER.  The instructor will go over some tactical uses with the TASER.  Officers will need to bring three yellow training cartridges and one blue simulation cartridge.

NEW LAW: Public Act 094-0103 was recently signed by the Governor. It includes a provision that requires all police officers in Illinois to quality with their firearms on an annual basis (officers must qualify with a 70%) . This qualification may be conducted by individual agencies or by the mobile teams. To assist local agencies in complying with this annual QUALIFICATION requirement, MTU #5 will schedule QUALIFICATION days.

The Course will include: 1. Use of Force review.
2. Weapon inspection
3. New 30 round course explanation
4. Warm-up
5. Live fire of course

Officers must bring their duty weapon. Leather gear and 50 rounds of factory ammunition. Only 12 officers will be accepted in each session. YOU MUST CALL IN TO REGISTER!!!!!
